The MNS, an international society for advancing research on the nervous system

The development of research and training on the brain and the nervous system is a necessity. Not only do we need it to face the fast progressing diseases, but also to contribute to related technological innovations and their impact on society.

This effort must be worldwide. In a globalized world, developping high quality research programmes and education for training people is needed everywhere. Developed countries are aware of this, and there are international initiatives (IBRO).

The Mediterranean region is one of these regions that has contributed to human development throughout history. This is why neuroscientists have created the MNS: i.e. to support and help strengthen all initiatives that bring together mediterranean neuroscientists. We beleive that we must, as scientists and citizens of this region, work together to promote equal and durable development of neuroscience here and around the world.

To support this initiative, we kindly invite you to join the MNS (download the form), invite your Colleagues to do so, and make or have other people make donations to support our young organisation on the following objectives. Or simply register on this web site to receive information on our activities.

Objectives of the MNS

The MNS works towards three main objectives:

  • Strengthen exchanges between mediterranean neuroscientists
  • Promote education in the neurosciences and increase public awareness of progress made
  • Sustain the Mediterranean Neuroscience Conference

To reach these objectives, the MNS’s policy is to work in close cooperation with existing national and international Neuroscience Societies.
